Updated over 8 months ago

Step-by-Step Process

1. Electronic LOA Link

The electronic Letter of Authorization can be found here, or reach out to DTS support for the link and additional questions.

2. Starting the Document

  • Complete the blue highlighted fields with your email, or the dealership's business email, and the first and last name of the person who will sign the document.

  • Then select "Review document"

3. Dealership Information

  • Complete the required information, as highlighted in blue below.

  • Dealer number may not be required if you do not have one.

    • Generally this is only the case if you are a title company

  • Enter today's date in the respective field.

4. Authorize Individuals

  • Include any individuals that will be processing title work, as well as all the name variations they may use (See below for example)

  • Important Note: The Letter of Authorization should not include the printed name of the person signing the document. The state will reject transactions where an individual is authorizing themselves.

4.5 I Need to Authorize Myself

  • If you are the sole owner of the business and no one else can sign the LOA to authorize you, follow all steps above, except you will now include your name on the LOA, AND provide a DR2444 as follows.

  • Leave the vehicle information blank, and ensure you sign the document.

  • The LOA should look like this:

5. Finish

  • Click either "Finish" button, it will send the LOA to DTS automatically for approval!
